About Golaghat Jatiya Mahavidyalay.

Golaghat Jatiya Mahavidyalaya is situated in Golaghat Jyotinagar, Golaghat. It is a multi faculty Junior college. The course offered by the college at present is senior secondary course with classes from IX to XII. The three streams are- Arts, Science and Commerce.

Golaghat Jatiya Mahavidyalaya was established in 2011 with 11 students only in the Art stream. So it was a very humble opening no doubt but a very convincing opening. Very soon the student strength of the college increased. The result of the college was constantly good from the beginning. In 2013 the science stream was introduced with 40 students. In 2013 first batch of 14 students appeared in the Higher Secondary Examination from the college. The result was hundred percent success with 1st division and 2nd division. In 2014 the college bagged a rank in the Higher Secondary Examination among the 10th rank holder. Sri Bedanta Bikash Bora secured 10th rank from this college in H.S. Examination 2014. Gradually the numbers of students increased and at present nearly 400 students are reading in this college.

The founder and pioneer will leave no stone unturned to make the institution, a full fledged one within a few years of its establishment.

Our Success History

  • a. The college, which started with 11 students in one stream (Arts) only, has been running with three streams- Arts, Science and Commerce.
  • b. The results which started with hundred percent successes have been constantly being maintained except one or two years.
  • c. Where in many/majority of the institutions like Higher Secondary Schools and junior colleges, both in Government and private sectors, fail to secure a rank among the 10th ranks in H.S.L.C. , H.S. school even after 40 or 50 years, Golaghat Jatiya Mahavidyalaya secured rank within two years of its establishment.
  • d. The healthy tradition of securing ranks is continuously being maintained. In 2018 Miss Sanchita Saikia secured 10th rank in Arts stream. In 2020 Miss Anwesha Kashyap secured 2nd rank in Arts and Sri Amitesh Nath secured 7th rank in Arts in 2020.
  • e. Beyond rank securers, majority of the students secured 1st divisions with distinction marks from this college.
  • f. The 10th year history of the college is a history of success.

Our Vision

Golaghat Jatiya Mahavidyalaya has a great vision of its future. Because we believe that a vision helps to set a Goal for an institution. It makes the people related to it, take rest. Golaghat Jatiya Mahavidyalaya has the vision to introduce undergraduate course in all the three streams which is being run in the college at Senior Secondary level. It has the vision to stand apart with its quality education

Unique Feature of College:

  • 1. As a college established in private sector and run by private management the college maintains a unique character of its own. All the earning of the college, including admission fees, tuition fees etc, are fully utilized in the college for its development not a single portion of the earnings of the college is utilized for any other purpose.
  • 2. The college has a four layer management system which is an extra-ordinary feature.
  • 3. The college has a whole time Director, who residing in the campus; look after everything, including hostel management along with academic matters.
  • 4. There is a vibrant Parent Teacher Whatsapp group formed in 2020 which has proved highly effective in a creating coordination among the three important stake-holders of educations as students, teachers and guardians.
  • 5. Teachers internal Quality improvement cell headed by the Director of the college.
