This department has a vision related to the development of mother tongue and Assamese literature. Recently it has been found that the younger generation speaking Assamese language is not capable of speaking and writing correct Assamese. The speaking, knowledge of grammar and knowledge of correct syntax are quite unknown to this generation. We know that a department with a few teachers can't rectify the situation. But we believe that constant practice and continuous counselling through various innovative ways can make our students know the language better and write the mother tongue properly. This vision helps us to work seriously and sincerely.
Mission/Vision of the department of Assamese is to promote and preserve the Assamese language literature and culture .
