Education in the 21st century has undergone a drastic change. From the traditional teacher centric pedagogy style, it has become informative, analytical and research-based. But one important negative aspect of this education is that it pays least importance to moral, artistic and socio-cultural aspect of human life. In the rat-race of success and affluence the institutions today are ignoring the integrated development of the students. But we need such education which can create an integrated personality in addition to making him informative, analytical and academically excellent. The society at present is in dire need of such institutions which can mould the students to be not only excellent but also to be respectful to his culture, morality and age old values of the society.
Golaghat Jatiya Mahavidyalaya is a unique attempt in itself incorporating novelty in institutional education along with an integrated personality development with special importance to moral values. There is no doubt that the world today has become highly competitive and students must be competitive to survive in this world. But along with competitive mentality, they must develop respect to the tradition and must not lose their root with motherland. Golaghat Jatiya Mahavidyalaya has been working ceaselessly since its beginning for preparing its students ready and eligible both academically and socially for a larger world of opportunities and competition.
We also promise to introduce the students to modern ways of institutional education and to establish Golaghat Jatiya Mahavidyalaya as a base for modern education with all amenities of national standard of education.
We are making a humble attempt to introduce Commerce stream in the college to provide our students with all academic options. This is our humble attempt to enlighten the society with education and enrich it with bright students.
It was the early decades of 21st century a successful business man of rural Golaghat dreamt an unusual dream. As businessman it was usual for him to dream of expanding his business by opening a new branch a entering into a new area of business.
But it was unusual to have a dream of opening a non-earning educational institution. His dream was bringing of quality education with emphasis on sustainable moral and social values. The dream has come to be true and result is Golaghat Jatiya Mahavidyalaya Golaghat, a junior college with a difference.
The dreamer is Mr. Biswajit Phukan, the managing Director of Golaghat Jatiya Mahavidyalaya Golaghat. The true of knowledge, which he planted with his sole individual effort, has flourished now to be a huge tree with flowers and fruits. The family of Golaghat Jatiya Mahavidyalaya Golaghat is always grateful to him.
